Lake Tahoe, California is absolutely stunning with crystal clear blue waters surrounded by snow capped mountains! Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada. A popular vacation spot all year round and of course, one of the most dreamiest wedding destinations.
4 reasons to elope in Lake Tahoe -
1.) Stunning Beauty - Lake Tahoe is one of the most unique landscapes in the world. The stunning beauty of Lake Tahoe will make for perfect wedding photos! Lake Tahoe offers gorgeous sunsets. The best view for sunset, in my opinion, where you will have Lake Tahoe in the background, is on the Nevada side. Places like Zephyr Cove and Sand Harbor are perfect. Lake Tahoe is the perfect hot spot for adventure couples seeking an adventure elopement which consists of; a gorgeous hike, an intimate elopement, champagne (picnic too!), and of course, all the dreamy photos you can imagine. Bonus, my husband can officiate adventure elopements, I can plan and photograph them, so if a long intimate hike to a stunning viewpoint is in your wedding dreams, don't worry, you have your adventure vendor couple right here to make it happen!
2.) Romance - Yes we know it, Lake Tahoe is one of the most popular destinations for a romantic getaway! There are many gorgeous locations where you can take a walk into the pines for an intimate elopement or micro wedding. There are so many activities, like para-sailing in the summer, or riding the Heavenly gondola during the winter!
3.) A Vacation Spot for Everyone - If you are planning on having your family and friends attend your wedding or elopement, Lake Tahoe is a nice vacation spot with something to do for everyone! You definitely won't need to worry about your family and friends coming into town and getting bored that's for sure! Bonus, there are several ways of getting to Lake Tahoe, so the location is pretty convenient for travels, mild weather of course. Winter time is another story, storms can be unpredictable, so plan travel accordingly. For guests who are flying in, Reno-Tahoe International Airport isn't too far away either.
4.) The Venues - There are so many wonderful wedding venues in Lake Tahoe. You can find a lot of venues right on the lake like The Riva Grill for example. The Riva Grill offers a gorgeous ceremony site right on the beach, with a spacious indoor area for your reception. (Photos below)
The Venues (Cont.) - Just down the road from The Riva Grill, you have your casino hotels if a casino wedding is in your plans. With tons of twinkling lights and colorful backdrops everywhere, the bride and groom portraits that take place in casinos are always flirty and so much fun! Or, if hiding up in the mountain tops in the trees with overlooking views is more of your thing, be sure to check out Heavenly Mountain Resort. Another gorgeous location with sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters in Lake Tahoe is Zephyr Cove. There, you will find Roundhill Pines Resort, which is a cool little resort right on the beach, outdoor event space, with phenomenal sunset views.
